Preface

Although Megga Glannz first appeared in Research & development in May of 1999, she was born on December 18, 1992, which even predates the formation of Union Graphics.  Paul Forrest and I had the idea of creating a comic book starring a beautiful girl with preposterously huge breasts, and after a lot of head scratching and rewriting, the first couple of pages came into being.  It was hard work and we were daunted by the thought of coming up with enough material for an entire book, so we shelved the project for the time being.

Back then, Paul didn’t consider himself to be a true cartoonist.  Though he has produced hundreds of lovely renderings of beautiful giant-breasted ladies for Union Graphics, he is an industrial illustrator by trade, a craft devoted to precision line drawings depicting high-tech gizmos and widgets.  In the ensuing years, Paul had opportunities to draw cartoons for some of his commercial clients, and he began to feel more comfortable with the laid back style.  He said that learning to draw cartoons required him to throw all the rules of illustration out the window and think like a cross between a child and a lunatic.
Through Union Graphics, we began our association with Al (“Axolotl”) and R & D, and before long, The Adventures of Megga Glannz was published.  Before this, Meg made a couple of oblique appearances in other cartoons in R & D.  She looked a little different in these, but it is our same dear girl.  She played a woman in a restaurant with a myopic date (below), and she also took on the role of Rapunzel (bottom).
Now, Meg has been in publication for a full year and she’s taken on a life of her own.  Though it’s still hard work, the monthly episodes come much more easily now.  Paul and I just sit back and let her run things—any job is more fun when your boss has a 175-inch bustline!

That's not precisely what I had in mind, Rapunzel, but it'll do just fine!
