The name of the movie was "Quest For The Crystal". It took place after the fall of civilization (think Mad Max). Two represenatives, a female from a group which had pushed human development to the limit, and a male from a group who had intergated mechanical devices into their bodies, traveled the land in seach for a "lepton energy crystal". This had been developed in the last days of civilzation and was lost during the "fall". The two represenatives had to fight minor war lords as well as each other. Only a few scenes were ever filmed (in wonderful SUPER-8-O-VISION). During the filming of a "big" battle scene, the actors simulated weapons fire by puffing on cigerettes. The big laser cannon was made up from parts of a vacuum cleaner, and the crystal was actually the guts from a drink despensor.
