Yvon was from London, England. She was the no 1 woman
Judoka in the world. Had been the first (and maybe the only) woman ever
to be allowed to play at the Kodokan in Tokyo. At 5'3"and 125 lbs, I
watched her throw an American 5th dan who was 6'1" and 230 lbs twice with
shoulder throws. He never caught her. She was third dan. England loved
to make slow promotions.
