A Girl's Motivation by loozer78 loozer78@yahoo.com "16.23 seconds!" Stacy Sage had just finished running the 100 meter dash. The 19 year-old student had always been athletic growing up. She played soccer when she was 6, had been a gymnast since she was 8, and, more recently, been a high-school track star. She had been attending Texas A&M on a track scholarship majoring in Sports Medicine. "That's your best so far." said Coach Gregory as the 5'6" athlete caught her breath, "Yeah.... But I know I could do better." Stacy replied. "Well, you could always consider hitting the weight room." quipped the coach. "Weights?" Stacy said confused. She had never picked up a barbell in her life. Stacy had seemed to always have been in perfect shape from sports alone, she just had good genetics. "Yes, the weight room. Adding more strength to your legs might help you cut a second or two off your time." the coach suggested. "I don't know, I don't want to look like a man. I'll think about it." Stacy responded as she put her long, red hair into a ponytail. "Alright Stacy, I won't force you. As long as you keep it an option." Coach Gregory declared. "See you at practice, tomorrow!" Stacy exclaimed as she started walking to her car. Later that night, as Stacy was flipping channels, she came across a bodybuilding competition on ESPN. Yaxeni Oriquen was on stage, flexing and posing. "Wow! She's beautiful," Stacy thought. "She has those huge muscles, but she still looks feminine." she continued. "Maybe I should take coach's advice." Stacy concluded. "I'll start tomorrow." When Stacy arrived at the weight room the next day, the place was virtually empty except for a few football players. "I'll start with the Leg Press." Stacy said to herself as she walked over to the machine and loaded 100 pounds onto it. "Okay." announced Stacy as she got into postion and released the locks. She pressed the weight with great ease, as if there was nothing at all. After 15 reps, she got up and decided to try going heavier. "Hmm, I'll add another 30." she thought as she picked the plates up off the rack. The heavier weights offered little challenge as well. As she got up from the machine, she caught her reflection in one of the mirrors that lined the wall in front of her. Her thighs had grown a good inch to inch and a half and were looking like those of an amateur figure competitor. "Those look pretty good!" Stacy thought. Stacy walked over to the free weights, were the football players were having a competition. She picked up a pair of 15 lb dumbells and sat on a bench far from the men. As she curled the weights, she realized that all the sports she had played must have done more than she had thought for the dumbells were like feathers. "I'll try doubling the weight." Stacy commented as she put the 15s back and grabbed the 30 lb dumbells. When she got back to her bench an curled the dumbells, she noticed how her biceps seemed to be growing ever so slightly every time she pumped the weight. She completed 20 reps and put the weights on the floor. Stacy turned back to the mirror and flexed her freshly pumped biceps. "My god! I can't believe how great my arms look!" Stacy exclaimed. She seemed to have gotten the attention of the football players, they dropped thier weights and lumbered over to were the ecstatic woman had been flexing. "Hey! You wanna join our little competition?" demanded Trevor Johnson, the 300 pound star quarterback. "Oh, I, uh, I'm not really as strong as you guys." Stacy stammered, "This is my first time in the weight room." she explained. "C'mon, it's just a friendly competition." Alan, the tackle, asserted. "Alright, I'll join." Stacy conceded as she walked with the men over to where they had been. "I'll go first." barked Trevor, as Alan brought over a barbell. "Start with 60." Trevor ordered. Alan loaded the weight onto the barbell and handed it to the massive quarterback. "I'll start light just to give you a fair shot." joked Trevor. "1...2...3...4...5!" he counted as he completed his reps. "Your turn, little girl." Trevor said giving the weight to Stacy. "Five times, right?" Stacy asked. The barbell was a little heavier than what she was using before, but was still easily lifted. "Okay, now how much?" Alan inquired. "Let's go to 75." Trevor replied. Again, the large athlete had little difficulty lifting the weights and then handed them off to Stacy. Stacy also lifted the barbell with little trouble. "Enough, of these kids games! 100 Alan!" Trevor ordered. Once more, the quarterback pumped the weight five times and handed it to Stacy. "You sure you don't want to quit right now, before you hurt yourself?" asked the cocky football star. "I can do it." Stacy responded. She was obviously having trouble with the heavy weight. "1...2...3...4.." Stacy muttered straining to complete the last rep. "Fii..Fii..Fii...I can't do it!" Stacy said in a defeated voice as she dropped the barbell with a huge thud. "Ha, Ha, Ha. Today's Lesson, girl's shouldn't be in the weight room!" cackled Trevor. "Yeah, go back to the aerobics studio!" added Alan as Stacy walked out of the weight room. As she got ready for track practice that afternoon, Coach Gregory, spotting the increased definition in Stacy's legs and arms, exclaimed, "I see you took my advice and went to the weight room. Let's get you out on the track!" Stacy walked over to the starting line, got into position and as the gun fired, took off in a blur. "13.02!" shouted Coach Gregory. "You've taken a whole 3 seconds off your previous time!" the coach added. "Yeah, Yeah." Stacy said despondently. "What's wrong?" implored the concerned coach. "What do you know about Trevor Johnson?" asked Stacy. "Why?" responded Coach Gregory. "That asshole ridiculed me in the weight room and said that girl's shouldn't be in the weight room." she explained. "Don't worry about him. He's not even going to be here much longer. He's dropping out to be a pro bodybuilder." Coach Gregory responded. "Really?" Stacy said intrigued. "Yeah, he training for the state championships in 6 months. In fact it'll be the first to have a overall champion between the men and women." the coach replied. This clearly sparked Stacy's interest as she didn't even stay for the rest of the practice and sped off to go home. When Stacy arrived home, she ran to her computer and started researching what it would take to win a contest such as the one taking place in six months. She clearly had an advantage over the other women due to her great genetics, but she wondered if she could beat the men with so little time to prepare. The next day after class, Stacy went to the local gym to begin training. She started with barbell curls, putting 85 lbs on the bar. Stacy was determined to get to a size comparable to Trevor, in case he happened to win the men's division. Moments later, Stacy was finishing her curls, "97...98...99...100!" Stacy counted as she pumped her growing biceps. As she looked in the mirror, flexing her arms, she noticed that her biceps had grown a full inch. "At this rate I should be able to win the competiton in no time." Over the next 6 months, Stacy spent every spare moment training. Her training weight grew steadily. Her curls had gone from 85 to 225 lbs. Leg presses were at an even 500 and she could out-bench anyone else at the gym, lifting 525 lbs with relative ease. She had gained 100 lbs and now was a massive 235 lbs. and she knew she was ready for the competition. Stacy was determined to show Trevor Johnson how wrong we was. The next day, at the hotel where the competiton was taking place. Stacy stood anxiously off-stage waiting for her chance to pose in front of the audience and judges. "The next heavyweight is Stacy Sage!" said the announcer. When Stacy came on stage, the entire audience gasped, in awe of the humongous woman standing on stage. As her music hit, Stacy thought, "Showtime!" and started her routine. She flexed her 21 inch biceps, inciting a cheer from the crowd. When she hit the ab and thigh pose, the stage was awash in flashes from cameras. Despite her large stature, Stacy could still perform many of the gymnastic moves she had learned. She leaped and somersaulted across the stage and then hit her final pose. When she hit the back double bicep pose and walked off stage, the crowd was applauding and chanting her name, "Stacy! Stacy! Stacy!" Stacy had decisively won her class and division. All that was left was for her to face the men's winner. As she had expected it was Trevor Johnson, the jerk who mocked her weakness so many months ago. The two were both on stage and once the announcer said so, they went into a posedown. The two bodybuilders were going pose for pose, trying to outmuscle each other. The two seem pretty evenly matched. As time ran out, the judges exclaimed, "We have a tie!" The winner would be selected through a strength contest, barbell curls. They started off with 100 lbs., both easily curling it 5 times. They then went to 130 and both had no trouble at all. After 20 minutes, the weight was up to 250, 25 lbs more than Stacy had ever lifted. Stacy went first, "One!...Two!...Three!...Four!..." the announcer counted, as Stacy went for the fifth rep, face contorted, "Grah!" Stacy grunted, "FIVE!!!" Stacy had lifted the large barbell 5 times and kept herself alive in the competition. It was Trevor's turn, as he curled the weight it was very obvious he was struggling. "...Three!...Four!..." He had one rep left, "Fi...Fiii..." Trevor couldn't do it, the weight was just too much and he dropped it. "We have a winner!" exclaimed the announcer, "Stacy Sage is the first Texas State Overall Bodybuilding Champion!" Stacy had a huge smile on her face, she couldn't believe how much she had grown over six months and she was standing on stage as a bodybuilding champion. She knew that had Trevor not ridiculed her and motivated her, she wouldn't be standing where she was. THE END
