Fighting females I've compiled a list of movies showing in some way or another f/m fighting or wrestling or armwrestling or some other athletic struggle. I find myself going around to various video stores seeking out tapes that contain mixed fights. Many times the box doesn't give you the whole story. So, it would be great if we could compile a list. I'd be glad to do it. Just send or post any films past or present that contain such and if we ALL contribute we can have a comprehensive listing. I know that hal316 has done something similiar with catfights...but I am not as interested in that and I hope many of you feel the same and we can make this a great venture. Here is what I have so far: Credit for most of these should go to Richard Fox and some credit should also go to: Achilles Dr. Burgeon Tony Perretta Jeffc@tiac.net mac@nmr.varian.com Bungeeman michael@barkingstars.prestel.co.uk please send in more contributions if you have any...i know that this is not near complete yet any rothrock movie has good stuff in it...i do need people to give summaries of the following ones: Rage and Honor Tiger Claws Honor and Glory Rage and Honor II Eye for an Eye Irresistable Force City Cops Angel of Fury Free Fighter Righting Wrongs II: Blonde Fury Top Squad In the Line of Duty 2 Righting Wrongs Ravenhawke - new release - in video stores now Stars Rachel McLish (the first miss o) as a vengeance seeking spiritual native american. She gets back at the men who destroyed her family and are taking advantage of her people. She is cut and her muscles are fairly well-emphasized. She beats the crap out of many formidable males along her vendetta. I would have liked to see perhaps a bit more displays of her muscle and power but I'm not complaining. One of the finer f/m films and it is purely a f/m film. A must rent for any mixed fighting fan. Adventures of Ford Fairlane - 1990 Throwaway Andrew Dice Clay film with one brief mixed fistfight. Angel of H.E.A.T. - 1982 Starring Marilyn Chambers (ex portn star with a good body) She plays a govt agent on a mission to bring down an operation. There isn't all that much action and when there is it is a little on the not believable side. The flick does concentrate on this woman's superior fighting skills with karate and other athletic skills. Definately worth renting. Good, but not too serious. Abducted II - Starring Donna Jason (who has costarred with Cynthia Rothrock). A little bit of fighting...Donna is pretty hot but not real muscular. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - Smash comedy with farcical fight seen at the end between Jim Carrey and Sean Young. Aces: Iron Eagles III - Co-stars Rachel McLish in a small but wonderful role. She get a couple of fight scenes and gets the chance to show off her muscular build. Definately worth a rent. All Night Long One of Barbara Streisand's better pix, it features the mighty Faith Minton as a female robber who works over convenience store owner Gene Hackman when he makes the mistake of messing with her. Alley Cat - Very good movie with Karin Mani who avenges her rape by going after the men, one or two at a time. Most of her fights are not that great but there are several of them. Definately worth a rent for volume and an attractive if not totally convincing femme fighter. Amazon - Fighting with swords...very dissapointing. The Amazons - Movie about a secret society of women trying to gain political power. These descendants of the amazons don't show much although one very tall black woman (maybe and probably Grace Jones) beats the crap out of a few guys. America 3000 - A fantasy about a tribe of female warriors who subjegate men. It is set in a post-nuclear holocaust setting...Stars Karen Shepard who is able to save an otherwise awful movie with her fighting prowess. Worth a rent probably. American Commando - Can't recall much of this one other than it features a female commando named Amazonia who has some pretty fierce fights and beats up a lot of armed guys. American Beauty Olympic Hostages - A few good fights but not convincing or too exciting. They don't have the muscle tone of olympic athletes or the athletic prowess. Angelfist - Cat Sassoon as a cop who travels to Hong Kong to discover the reason behind her sister's murder. She is forced to participate in an all-women's kickboxing tourney...some good f/f fights. There are a few scenes where she gets to beat on the guys. Definately worth a rent to see her breasts and physicallity. Angel of Destruction - Yes!...Maria Ford is absolutely gorgeous and athletic in this non-stop action movie...she lacks muscle but she makes up for it with energy and lots of great beat-men's-asses scenes. Charlie Spradling who plays her sister also gets a great fighting scene too. Rent this one. Angel of Fury - Mediocre Cynthia Rothrock flick...usual stuff Ballistic - Absolutely fantastic movie of this genre...stars Marjean Holden and Cory Everson and they beat up some men in impressive fashion. Cory lifts a guy over her head in a stunning dress at one point during a fight and it is priceless...she breaks his neck. Must rent. Batman Returns - Catwoman (played by Pfeiffer and body doubled by kickboxer Kathy Long) lands a few punches and more than holds her own with batman but not worth seeing strictly for this element. The Beverly Hillbillies - Erica Elaniak plays Elly Mae and gets to do a bit of mixed wrestling...not too much though. BloodSport II - 1996 Featuring - Lisa McCallihan She plays a tournament fighter in this sequel to Van Damne's original. An attractive, pretty muscular blonde, she is featured in three seperate bare-fisted kumite matches. Convincing and dramatic, these are as good as it gets for a mixed fighting in the movies. A must-rent even though she Beyond Fear - Mediocre Mimi Lesseos movie. She plays a wilderness guide and has to fight off some men who attack her group. Her fights are more based on wrestling moves than anything else and as such, the fights aren't all that impressive. Her second of three movies (as far as I can tell), the third, Rage on the Streets, is her best. Definately worth a rent. Black Belt Angels - A surprising movie. About two teen-age daughters of a guy who runs a martial arts school. The dad gets kidnapped and the girls, along with two friends, have to save him. While the girls don't show much strength, they show some impressive moves and wipe out the bad guy's ninja army (although for ninjas, they can't fight at all!). A fairly silly, childish movie with teenage girls doing the fighting but still fairly impressive. Black Belt Jones - Gloria Hendry plays Jones' partner and shows her stuff in a couple of very good fight scenes. This would get a higher rating if she were given more scenes. Black Scorpion - Joan Severance plays a cop tired of being defeated by a corrupt system and becomes a masked avenger in leather and a cool car. A really corny and stupid movie with a few good fights. Black Scorpion 2 - Sequel with less going for it. Pretty much the same although this one has less fights and the fights are poorly done. Blade Runner - An excellent sci-fi movie (you all know this one) with only a couple of female fights between the female replicants (genetically created humans) beating up Harrison Ford. One particularly famous scissors scene is notable however. Blood Fist 4 - Cat Sassoon returns to the movies after Angelfist to have a couple of fights against Don Wilson. Not too much to see here. Bodywaves - Only one real scene here with a blonde on the beach beating up some amorous guy. Brain Smasher - Terri Hatcher (from the Lois and Clark tv series) gets to beat up a couple of guys while backing up Andrew Dice Clay in a really bad movie. Breakaway - About a girl trying to steal money from the mob. She (Teri Thompson I think) gets a couple of fights and lots of gun play, Tonya Harding (yes, the skater) gets a short fight near the end too. Not very good though. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Kristy Swanson studies martial arts in order to kill vampires. She gets a few fights plus we get to see her training. In one scene she takes on several vampires at once. Nothing great. The movie's pretty good though if you like campy fun. Caged Heat 2 - Never saw the original one. This one has an undercover agent in some foreign jail. She does a little fighting against some female inmates. Casino Royale - Mata Hari Bond (the illegitimate child of James Bond and Mata Hari) does a little fighting. Catch the Heat - Tiana Alexandra plays an undercover agent who infiltrates a drug cartel. She gets about 3 good fight scenes. She's small, but pretty impressive, especially as she runs around in black tights wiping out guys. Worth a rent. Challenge of the Lady Ninja - Female ninja does quite a bit of unbelievable fighting. There are a couple of good scenes but mostly not. China O'Brien - Probably one of Cynthia Rothrock's best films if that says anything. She beats the shit out of a lot of guys in this movie, many of the fights being many-on-one types. She even looks pretty here. China O'Brien 2 - Fair sequel to the above. Still has good fight scenes but not as many as the first. (one fight scene being a flashback from the first movie) CIA Codename Alexa - Kathleen Kinmont is pretty and lean and is convincing beating the shit out of some guys. There is actually a somewhat interesting story, incidentally it happens to be the same one as in la femme nikita). Worth renting CIA Codename Alexa 2 - Lori Fetrick (a bodybuilder) highlights this film along with Kinmont. Both of them get to do some good fight scenes. Fetrick gets to beat the crap out of a couple of dudes, breaking one of their necks. This one is a bit better than the first. A must rent. Cleopatra Jones - 6'2" Tamara Dobson plays this lady DEA agent who uses karate to beat up the bad guys. Pretty bad movie all the way around. Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold - A little more interesting thanks to Jones' sidekick in this movie, an oriental lady (Tanny?) who has much more convincing moves and gets a couple of good fight scenes. Codename Foxfire - TV movie about a female superspy played by Joanna Cassidy who gets a couple of pretty poorly done fights. Cyborg - Jean Claude shares some of the fighting with a female. Don't remember much about it but she gets a few fight scenes. Cyborg 2 - Much better movie with a female android (Agenlina Jolie) getting in several fight scenes. Also features Karen Sheppard in a small role as an oriental cyborg. Maybe worth the rent. The Dallas Connection - Worthless Andy Sidaris movie. Pretty playboy playmates but no fighting. Dangerous Prey - Shannon Whirrley? stars as a woman kidnapped by an agency who programs women into being assassins. Hints at lesbianism but none shown on screen. Very little fighting but Shannon does show a little ability. Day of the Panther - Can't recall much of this movie but one of the stars is a pretty blonde who gets a couple of fight scenes, the second is lengthy as she takes on a whole gang. She dies early in the movie though. The Deadly and the Beautiful - Has lots of potential but is wasted. We get a pretty good fight scene midway through the movie but thats it. The title song "Wonder Women" makes you think that you'll see more than you do. Delinquent School Girls - A really bad movie which has escape convicts attacking a all-girls' school. One girl gets to fight back and beats up 2 or 3 of the convicts before they stop her. The Demolitionist - 1995 Starring Nicole Eggert of Charles in Charge and Baywatch fame as an attractive but not at all muscular cop who gets killed and is brought back to life with special new physica powers. She becomes extremely strong and agile and goes out and blows the bad guys to shreds with guns and her fists. The problem for me was that she was too superhuman to beaten by anyone ans so it wasn't at all exciting. No muscle either...no great f/m fighting action. plenty of violence Devil's Brigade - An early "women commando" movie which is a total joke. The few fight scenes are embarrassingly bad. Diamonds are Forever - Two female guards give James Bond a beating. Do Or Die - Another Sidaris movie, this one has a couple of fight scenes. Nothing worth seeing though. Don't Just Stand There - A comedy starring Robert Wagner and Mary Tyler Moore. Has a very tall (6'2"?) red head (Barbara Rhodes?) who knows judo and uses it in a couple of fights. Double Blast - 13 year old Crystal Summers(?) plays Apollo Cook's daughter and she does know her stuff, displaying moves reminiscent of Cynthia Rothrock. She gets several fight scenes, but the fights would look more convincing if she were older. Its hard to believe a 13 year old could beat the crap out of a bunch of guys. Look out for her in the future. Double Dragon - A couple of bit fights for Alyssa Milano and Julia Nickson which are mostly uninteresting. Double Impact - The big build-up for this one was for Cory Everson who really didn't get anything good to do. Worth seeing for Cory's body not her fighting. Dragon Princess - Sue Shiomi gets to show her stuff but its a pretty bland movie. The best bit has her breaking boards. Her fight scenes are not very entertaining. Electra - Shannon Tweed plays the stepmom to a teenaged guy who was given a superdrug by his dad before he died. An evil nasty wants this drug to make him "whole" again and sends his henchwomen after him and Shannon. The women do some damage to a bunch of guys including a couple of neck snappings. Later, the superguy's girlfriend takes the drug, kills the two henchwomen and then gets to fight Shannon-turned-evil in a silly fight including cat hissing and flying. Definitely worth seeing even if a little silly. Eliminator Woman - Ah Karen Sheppard in easily her best movie. She gets plenty of fight scenes and is really remarkable. There is another female in the movie who also does some fighting and of course the two fight each other at the end. A must rent. Endangered Species - Jo Beth Williams plays a sheriff who gets to beat up one or two guys but nothing worth seeing. Enemy Gold - Another Sidaris film, this time with Suzie Simpson who does a bit of fighting but again, its pretty much a waste. Eve of Destruction - (forget her name) stars as the creator of an android and the android herself. The android goes on a rage killing people left and right. She is shown throwing a bank robber through a window, breaking a guy's arm, and doing other damage. A horrible movie, the fights are minimal but if you like to see superhuman feats of strength, this might offer something. Excessive Force 2 - 1995 Starring Stacie Randall as a detective very skilled in martial arts. She get to beat up many badies. Awesome...although not too much muscularity. A must rent for f/m enthusiasts. Fame is the Name of the Game - 1966 A female bodyguard gives the hero a roughing up, threatens to kill him with a high heel to the throat, then later physically intimidates him. Fast Getaway - Cynthia Rothrock in a comedy. She gets two fight scenes with a couple of smaller bits thrown in. Really nothing special here...except to see her in a more costly production than usual. Fast Getaway 2 - Lame sequel with even less fight scenes. Faster pussycat kill kill - 196? Empty film centered around two dominant women. One in particular beats the crap out of a couple of guys. Cultish but perhaps worth a rent. Very brutal portrayal of female power. Ferocious Female Freedom Fighters - The LA Connection took some HK movie about female wrestlers and overdubbed comedic lines. The wrestling fights are stupid, but there is some martial arts as well. If you can ignore the overdubbed lines, you might enjoy some of the fights but its nothing special. Ferocious Female Freedom Fighters 2 In this one, the fighting is much more in the foreground and the female lead does a lot of it, devastating a whole bunch of guys. The fights aren't very convincing, but there's enough to please. Firecracker - Jillian Kessner stars in an early female martial arts movie (1981). She's blond and fairly attractive and has some moves but nothing terribly impressive. Still, she gets about 5 or 6 fight scenes in this movie. There are better fighting movies but this one isn't bad. The best thing about it is she gets to fight in a battle to the death with a very skilled male martial artist. Fire in the Night - Graciella Casillas stars in this movie about a woman who decides to stand up to the town bully. She learns some martial art and does some heavy exercising (she looks very good in this movie). She only gets two fight scenes, one where she wipes out 3 or 4 guys while wearing a very pretty dress and a second where she takes on the bully. The movie is pretty much entirely a buildup to her showdown match with him and it doesn't dissappoint. A must rent in my book despite the lack of action. Fist of Steel - Cynthia Khan (of HK movie fame) makes an American movie based in a post holocaust world. She trains in the martial arts under the guidance of a warrior (Apollo Cook) and soon becomes quite capable. She gets several fight scenes in a pretty good movie. Worth a rent. Fists of Iron - 1995 Only thirty seconds are worthwhile. A beautiful young girl (20?) knocks out a male opponent in a ringmatch kickboxing fight. If only there were more. Fit to Kill - Another Sidaris, this one is slightly better than others in terms of the fighting but still nothing to speak of. Full Contact - One scene has Michelle (Mouse) Kranno kickboxing another female. Good scene while it lasts. Galaxis - Brigette Nielsen plays a heroine from another planet, who comes to Earth to find a power source to save her world. She is very tall and well-built and plays a superwoman able to knock men out with one punch and even rip the metal bars from her jail cell. Not much fighting though. Gor - Playboy playmate Rebecca Ferranti plays a female warrior in the fantasy world of Gor. She gets to do some fighting. There is a sequel also, Outlaw of Gor. Not that good at all. Guardian Angel - Easily Cynthia Rothrock at her best, at least in terms of appearance (long hair and big tits). Several fights, all typical Rothrock. Gymkaka - Vehicle for ex-gymnast Kurt (something) but also stars an Indian lady (Tcshie something or other) who does a bit of fighting near the end. Not really worth a rent. Hard Hunted - Another Sidaris film. More fighting than usual. Probably the best of his Hell Squad - Another female commandos movie, this time the commandos are mostly Las Vegas show girls (yeah right). They learn to fight and there are perhaps 3 or 4 fight scenes, most notably near the end of the movie. Again, there are much better movies than this one. Honor and Glory - 2 Another Rothrock. Here she stars with Donna Jason who does more working out than actual fighting. Rothrock gets a couple of token fights but most of the story revolves around Jason. She looks hot and very capable but when it actually came to a fight scene, she pretty much fizzled out. Hourglass - 1995 The mixed fighting in this movie is a bit spotty. Sofia Shinas plays a femme fatale who has some martial arts experience. She works a guy over pretty well at one point. Hundra - Fantasy movie with a female warrior who could take on any man. Funny scene has her fighting a guy while eating a turkey leg. She fights him off one handed while making sure she doesn't drop her food. Pretty bad all in all. Ice - Tracy Lords gets to play a jewel thief who gets to do a bit of fighting including breaking a guy's neck. Not too bad especially when compared to her other action flicks (see Intent to Kill) Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks - Contains one of the most graphic and intense mixed fights you're likely to ever find on film. A large male prisoner is pitted against two topless martial arts women. They destroy him in a brutally one-sided fight. Innocent Blood - Vampire story with our star female being a very tough yet lovely vampire. Watch her break other vampires' necks, break out of a pair of handcuffs and even jump off of a building and demolish a cop's car. Its actually a very enjoyable, often funny, movie. Intent to Kill - Tracy Lords plays a cop. Her big fight scene isn't bad, she uses a club and wipes out 4 or 5 guys with well aimed blows. Irresistable Force - A "serious" Rothrock film starring Stacy Keach. Rothrock plays Keach's new cop partner and gets caught inside a mall being held hostage by terrorists. She then must fight her way out. While this is not a "martial arts" movie, she gets several fights. She looks good (like she did in Guardian Angel). Mediocre movie, but better than many of hers. Island Amazons - A pretty laughable film with lots of unbelievable stunts that make the movie really stupid. There is a ton of fighting but its all unbelievable. Jungle Warriors - Group of models get caught in the jungle by a drug lord. One is a CIA or DEA agent, and when the girls get a chance to break out, she gets to do a bit of fighting. Kickboxer 4 - Michelle Mouse Kranso gets a bit of fighting here but she doesn't get to do all that much. She wipes out a couple of guys in kickboxing "death matches". This is my favorite type of thing where she is in a kumite type thing and is the only woman. She is hot and kicks ass. Rent this one. Knights - Kathy Long plays a warrior in this sci-fi film starring Kris Kristopherson. She doesn't get to do anything through the first half of the film, but afterwards, its pretty much non-stop action as she and Kristopherson wipe out all of the cyborgs and humans that oppose them. Kathy's fighting style is very different than a typical martial arts movie but she looks incredible and her results are utterly devastating (in an interview, she mentions that in this movie, her characters kills 50 men in one fight scene. Thats exaggerated but it gives you an indication of what the movie is like). A must rent. Knockouts - Girls trying to make some money enter a kickboxing contest with some other ladies. You get to see them train and then fight. Some of the fighting is mildly interesting. Thats about it. La Femme Nikita - French movie where a female convinct is saved from the death penalty by becoming an assassin. Few fights but a fine film. Lady Dragon - Another Rothrock. My personal favorite. Rent it. Lady Dragon 2 - Another good rothrock movie. Lady Terminator - Female becomes possessed by the spirit of some ancient female tyrant, and is endowed with unstoppable powers. She goes on a killing spree with machine guns. Even when shot by machine guns, she won't go down. Very little fighting although she does break someone's neck. Very bizarre and bloody movie. Last Action Hero - Arnold movie. Only bit is that his daughter bits the shit out of some guy in a short clip. Lethal Weapon 3 - Rene Russo plays a female cop who equals Mel Gibson's character in her ability to spread carnage. She gets a couple of pretty authentic fight scenes. The Lethal Woman - An ex-marine, who was raped, decides to seek vengeance against all rapists. She brings a group of raped girls to an island where she teaches them to fight and they hunt down men who have committed rape. Some fight scenes although there seems to be more talking than fighting. A bit disappointing (one scene has her commanding officer instruct her to quit beating up the men in self defense class, too bad they didn't show that) Lovely But Deadly - High school girl (Lucinda Dickey) takes vengeance on the drug trafficking in her high school after her brother is killed. She gets several fights and at the end, her karate teacher and karate class also get into the action. Great find and a must rent. Lost Empire - A horrid movie about a cop who recruits two other women to help her infiltrate an island where a madman is putting together an army of beautiful women. All three women are able to knock men out with single punches. Best scene is when the cop puts her fist throw a guy's car windshield. The Mackintosh Man - 1973 A nurse gives Paul Newman a special treatment in an interrogation scene. Man with the Golden Gun - James Bond movie. At one scene, Bond is escaping from the bad guy's den and faces about 15 bad guys. Two young girls step in and beat up all the bad guys. Mankillers - Another "lets recruit female convicts for an army" type movie. Some fighting which is mostly unrealistic. There are a few good bits during the fighting though which some might enjoy. Martial Law - Another pretty good Rothrock flick. She plays a cop (of course) and gets a lot of fight scenes. She really shows her stuff in several of these scenes. One of her earlier US films and one of the better ones. Martial Law 2 - Less interesting sequel with some good fighting but neither the quantity or quality of the first movie. Maximum Force - Group of renegade cops are forced together to try to shut down a drug lord. One of them is a pretty blond who can handle herself. She gets to show her stuff breaking some boards and later gets a couple of fight scenes. Made for cable and not bad all in all. Mission of Justice - Karen Sheppard has a small role here as a cop's partner. She gets two or three fight scenes, one of which she takes on 3 guys, another is of course against a female (why is she always fighting women?) Eliminator Woman is better but this one isn't bad. Model by Day - A made for FOX tv movie features an actress (played by supermodel Famke) who decides to don a bizarre costume and become a masked avenger. She does quite a bit of fighting but all of the fight scenes are utterly bad. Also stars playboy playmate Shannon Tweed as someone who decides to also become the masked avenger. It ends with them fighting each other of course. This movie would have a higher rating if the fight scenes were done better. Modesty Blaise - 1966 The villian's amazon muscle beats a mime to death. Moonraker - Another Bond movie with Lois Chiles as a CIA agent who gets to do a bit of fighting. Natural Born Killers - 1994 Juliette Lewis is scrawny but vascular and she beats the shit out of several guys. Nemesis 2 - Sue Price, bodybuilder, stars as a genetically engineered human who must battle a time-travelling android out to kill her. While doesn't do much fighting, she looks awesome. One scene in particular has Sue fighting a muscle bound man, grabbing his fist in hers as he attempts to hit her, she crushes his fist. This movie though is really bad, half of it being in a foreign language without subtitles! Nemesis 3 - This sequel is pretty much the same as the prior version although there is less fighting. You get lots of looks at the impressive Sue Price. There will be a Nemesis 4, lets hope its better than 2 and 3! The Next Karate Kid - Fourth in the series has Hillary (something) starring as a trouble youth who learns karate to set her straight. Besides a little of her training, there is only one fight and its pretty short. But it isn't too painful to watch. Ninja School - A bunch of misfits go away to a school to learn martial arts. Pretty stupid take on Police Academy. You get to see one fight with a woman. Ninja 3: The Domination - An aerobics instructor (Lucinda Dooley) becomes possessed by the spirit of an evil ninja out for revenge against the cops who killed him. As the ninja, she is pretty impressive, knocking cops around and killing them with ease. Several very impressive fights including her taking on about 6 cops at once and her crushing a pool ball in her fist. Would be given a higher rating if there were more fight scenes or if they lasted longer. No Contest - Disappointing movie starring Shannon Tweed (playboy playmate) as a martial arts actress who attempts to escape from terrorists who are holding a group of people hostage. She does have several fight scenes but nothing very convincing. No Surrender No Retreat 2 - I think this is the first American film with Rothrock. She gets basically two fight scenes, one kickboxing in a ring and one where she takes on some monks. Pretty good but would be better if she had more screen time. The Nude Bomb - Get Smart movie and typical of Get Smart, there are some women who fight. Two female agents get to do some fighting, most impressively is Sylvia Kristel. Octopussy - James Bond movie in which he comes up against Octopussy and her female army. Later they join together and towards the end there is some hand to hand fighting between the female army and the evil army they are up against. Nothing very impressive. Operating Golden Pheonix - Highly disappointing Karen Sheppard film because she only gets one fight scene near the end of the movie. She beats the crap out of this guy, even with her hands bound behind her, but its way too short to be worth while. Panther Squad - Sybill Danning leads her female commando squad in this movie. Several fight scenes which are horribly choreographed and look very ridiculous. Pay or Die - Maria Lee stars as a Karate expert who is hired to get a guy's kidnapped daughter back from the mafia. She puts together a team consisting of herself, a 300+ pound woman and a transvestite. This is one bizarre movie, but worth seeing because Maria Lee is very impressive, beating up everyone who opposes her, including several many-on-one fights. A must rent. Phanton Empire - Sybill Danning plays a very big-breasted queen of a fantasy empire. There's a bit of fighting here and there. Phoenix the Ninja - Very bizarre movie of a female ninja. Not very convincing and most of the fighting seems to exist in some netherworld. Policewomen - Sandra Currey is a policewoman who single-handedly stops a breakout in a women's prison with her karate and is reassigned to stop an illegal weapons shipment. She gets about 3 pretty impressive fights. A must rent. Point of No Return - Remake of La Femme Nikita with Brigette Fonda as the drug addict turned assassin. Slightly better (in terms of fight scenes) than the French version. Prince of the Sun - An older Rothrock film probably made in Hong Kong with Rothrock as a Buddhist disciple out to save a small child. Her fights are not very convincing. Princess Warrior - Sci-fi comedy about two sisters fighting over their empire, who get transported to Earth and continue to fight amongst the earthlings. They fight each other and some other guys along the way but most of the fighting is pretty unrealistic. Pushed to the Limit - Mimi Lesseos' first film. She is pushed and so she learns to fight to get back at those who pushed her. Three whole fight scenes, all of them pretty short. But very good and probably worth a rent. Queen Boxer - Judy Lee is an unstoppable force in this movie. Lots of lengthy fights although I didn't really care for it much because most of her fighting was done with axes or swords. Even so, she takes on an entire army of about 100 men and kills quite a few of them. If you want to see total non-stop action, check this one out (if you can find it) otherwise, skip it. Rage and Honor - Typical Rothrock, here playing a grade school teacher involved with some espionage. Some good fight scenes although nothing really that special. At this point, if you've seen one Rothrock, you've really seen them all. Kathy Long gets a very small role in this film. Rage and Honor 2 - Pretty much the same as the first one (although without Long). Rage in the Streets - Best of Mimi Lesseos' films. Here, she uses martial arts rather than wrestling moves throughout the movie and gets several fight scenes. Some of the choreography is poor (the last fight scene in particular shows her repeatedly hitting a guy in the head with phony blows) but overall, a pretty good fighting female movie. A must rent. Raw Force - Jillian Kessner (Firecracker) is in this movie offering two fight scenes, one against some zombies. Very bad. Ride the Wild Surf - Barbara Eden teaches her future boyfriend a lesson by wrestling him on the beach. She puts him in a standing wristlock while one of her feet pushes his face into the sand and demanding that he say unlce. Robochic - Kathy Shower (playboy playmate) plays a robot who must do good. She has super powers but you don't get to see her use them very much. Robotjox - Sci-fi about people trained to fight in huge robots. One of the fighters is a woman who beats up the star of the movie to take his place. Rollerblade - Sci-fi camp about women who rollerblade around beating up the post-holocaust men. The blonde in this movie gets one descent fight scene. Romeo is Bleeding - A trussed-up Lena Olin is a psychotic hitwoman who, in one thrilling scene, almost does in Gary Oldham with a deadly leg scissors. Running Delilah - Made for TV movie that was never aired starring Kim Catrall as a woman who is killed and brought back to life as a partial cyborg. She trains to become the ultimate fighter and gets to do a bit of fighting. Savage Beach - Another Sidaris film. Very little fighting. Savage Sisters - Three rebel women (including Gloria Hendry from Black Belt Jones) escape from an ambush in latin america and attempt to free their leader. They get to do some fighting along the way. Shame - Two versions of this movie (Australian and US) telling the same story of a motorcycle riding woman who comes to a town in which a rape has occured. The woman takes matters into her own hands. She - Sandahl Bergman as the immortal queen in this very lose adaption of the old story. She does some fighting here and there. S*H*E - The acronym is for Security Hazards Expert, a female James Bond type. She gets one or two fights along the way. Shinobi Ninja - Karen Sheppard has a small role in this film and two fight scenes. Only noteworthy for her fight scene in the snow where she takes on 4 guys. Shogun Ninja - Sue Shiomi has a small role in this film. The Silencer - About a female assassin. She gets a few fight scenes along the way including one kickboxing in a ring. Pretty good. Silk - Silk is a policewoman out to stop a drug cartel. One or two fights. Silk 2 - Slightly better sequel (although different actress). Among the fights is Silk jumping through a speeding jeep's windshield and a semi-nude night. Sister Street Fighter - Sue Shiomi stars as Sister Street Fighter in this sequel to the Street Fighter movies. She's pretty unstoppable and gets lots of fight scenes to prove it. The movie isn't wonderful but from a female fighting perspective, definitely worth seeing. The Sisterhood - Another sci-fi post apocolyptic world with female warriors. Several fight scenes but nothing special. Sorceress - Another fantasy, here about twins who are endowed with fighting powers and who are able to take on a whole army of evil soldiers in revenge of their parents death. Best scene is when one of the twins grabs an arrow out of mid air and uses it to shoot the guy who was shooting at her. Spitfire - Kristie Phillips plays a gymnast who knows martial arts and attempts to solve the mystery of her murdered father. She gets several fight scenes and does some amazing things (although the fight scenes lack a little in believability). This one is pretty good. One scene shows her jump to a handstand and deliver several rapid kicks to the head of one of her assailants and then she flips him over her using her feet. This is great and is a definite must see. Spring Break - 1983 A nice little mixed-boxing scene occurs in this movie between a small girl and a much larger guy. The movie is a light comedy so the scene is somewhat played for laughs. She ko's him. Spy Hard - 1996 Leslie Nielsen spoof with Nicolette Sheridan laying waste to a number of men using fists and feet. There are two fighting scenes. Worth a look perhaps. Starquest - About a genetically engineered superwoman on a secret mission. She is able to kill with barehands and does so several times but unfortunately all of the fights are over before they really begin. Its still a fair sci-fi movie. Stoner - George Lazenby stars as Stoner and has support from Angela Mao who does some very amazing fighting. The Stranger - Kathy Long returns in this made for HBO movie about a woman who comes to a small backwards town to avenge the death of a woman killed by this outlaw gang (its unclear if she is actually the ghost of the woman). She dispatches the entire gang one at a time or several at once usually using her bare hands. Not bad, but nothing like Knights. Kathy still looks pretty incredible but her fights are all too short. Surprisingly, Kathy does a short nude scene in this movie. A must see. Strange Days - 1996 Angela Bassett as a muscular female bouncer that can beat the crap out of men. Not worth seeing purely for the fighting. Superfights - Yet another movie of illegal "cage fighting", this one, a new guy is drafted to the ranks by a pretty female fighter. She doesn't get much action, but her moves at the very beginning of the movie are nice. She also helps the guy train. Sweet Justice - Another female commando movie about a group of commandos who reunite to stop a crime league in a small town. The women are all capable fighters and there are several pretty good fight scenes. Includes Kathleen Kinmont (who has a small role here) and a very well-endowed blond who does the most impressive fighting. Well worth seeing. Sword of Honor - Sophia Crawford (Australian kickboxer) costars here and gets two juicy fight scenes. She is very impressive but alas she doesn't get to do too much. Worth renting. TC 2000 - A woman is killed and turned into a cyborg in this pseudo-sci-fi entry. The woman is quite a capable fighter both before and after her transformation. There are perhaps 3 fight scenes. They Call Me Bruce - Silly comedy which includes several fight scenes with two women (Pam Huntington and Margeaux Hemmingway) beating up various guys and each other. The fights are mostly unrealistic and stupid. Three Kinds of Heat - Three cops infiltrate a mob. Two of the cops are 6' plus women who are able to take on any man. But there is only one fight scene, near the end of the movie. Tigerclaws - Another Rothrock film. Here, again, she plays a cop with martial arts abilities who is assigned a case of tracking down a killer using martial arts. She gets several fight scenes but nothing terribly special. TNT Jackson - The title refers to our female (played by playboy playmate Jean Bell) who takes on a mob. Lots of fighting but mostly unrealistic (especially at the end when TNT puts her fist right though a guy, punching out his stomach - yuck) To Be the Best - 1993 One great ringmatch where a woman gets to fight a man in kickboxing for the first time ever in international competition. One of my favorite scenes but alas not a significant part of the movie. Total Recall - Arnold momentarily has his hands full with Sharon Stone's kickboxing skills. Pretty brief but exciting. Trained to Fight - Rothrock in a supporting role training a guy to fight. She gets a couple of fight scenes here. Triple Threat - Briget "Baby Doll" Riley teams up with Apollo Cook and another male martial artist (his name escapes me) in a typical action movie with lots of martial arts. Briget gets three fights, two against women and one in the final brawl. Briget is an impressive kickboxer in a similar vein as Cynthia Rothrock and Sophia Crawford. Worth checking out. Twenty-first Century Woman - This was a made for CBS 1 hour special centering around bodybuilder Rachel McLish. Among the footage is Rachel flexing and working out, and some footage with other female bodybuilders. There is also a "fantasy" sequence starring Rothrock as she wipes out 3 would-be muggers in 15 seconds. Twenty-four Hours to Midnight One of Rothrock's poorer efforts as she becomes a masked avenger of her husband's death. She gets two or three fight scenes but nothing very special. The Undefeatable - That last one is one of Rothrock's poorer efforts? this one isn't so bad...one on one street fights saving its terrible storyline. Under Lock and Key - Undercover female FBI agent in prison winds up escaping in pursuit of hidden jewels. She does some fighting and teams up with a female cop in pursuit of stolen money and getting her daughter back. Under the Gun - Kathy Long costars with Richard Norton (who has been in nearly every Rothrock film). Unfortunately her screentime is about 25 minutes and 3 short fights. She is amazing as always, but the fights are too short to warrant this as being a good movie. Still worth renting Vampirella - Talisa Soto plays an alien vampire come to earth. She battles other vampire Roger Daltry and many other thugs, dispatching humans very easily. Ok movie with lots of fights. Velvet Smooth - Velvet is a private eye who, along with some other ladies solve a case involving a mob. Lots of poorly staged fighting. These women use martial arts to help wipe out a whole warehouse of men. If the fighting were higher quality, this might be rated a 4 or 5. There is a ton of fighting here where the ladies are shown beating men up left and right, but all of the fighting is poorly choreographed to the point of being funny. VI Warsharski - Kathleen Turner as a tough private eye who uses her fighting abilities when needed. Nothing to really see though. Virtual Combat - 1995 Leather holo-mistress beats up some men in a couple of short but sweet scenes. Unfortunately she tangles with Don Wilson. War Cat - Daughter of a marine is captured by men who want to hunt her as sport. They don't realize that she was trained by her dad and is quite capable of turning their game around. A little bit of fighting but not too much. Still, this movie might impress some people. Wayne's World - Tia Carrera plays a bassist who stops a fight with her martial arts early on in this movie. Very funny movie by the way. When Tae Kwon Do Strikes - Angela Mao is very impressive here as she wipes out great numbers of men including some very large men. She fights unarmed against armed men, and a little using swords. Several many-on-one fights. Unfortunately, the film quality isn't real good. Which Way is Up? - Richard Pryor movie where in one scene he tries to bed a gal who's not in the mood. She pins him and boxes him and generally just beats him up. Wonder Woman - Cathy Lee Crosby stars and doesn't do very much that is impressive here as the amazon superwoman. This of course inspired to TV series starring Linda Carter who was a much more impressive superwoman. appears for only a total of ten minutes. Double Impact-Jean Claude Van Damme gets a rear head scissors form Cory Everson. Doesnt last long but to see this beauty in a film playing the enforcer is a treat. Skin Deep- a comedy with John Ritter, who plays a philanderer who gets caught right at the start and pays the price in his fiances head scissors The Magnificent Seven- Lou Ferrigno plays a wandering warrior in this box office blunder. Set in what is probably 5th or 6th cen B.C. there is an excellent wrestling match performed in front of the evil king. Great smother finish. All the Marbles- a classic. two beautiful female wrestlers take their act on the road with Peter Falk in a series of exciting matches. Mortal Kombat-the character Sonja defeats her opponent with a killer scissor lock 1) Goldeneye - where the femme fatale leg scissors an elderly gent to death between her legs while in the act of making love; 2) The War of the Roses - where Kathleen Turner stymies Michael Douglas with a similar leg scissors while fighting in their bedroom.
